ELEVEN - Sheffield

A design studio in Sheffield who design for the culture sector and Ethical based companies.  This would be a good place to get a placement understanding the sort of work I would say no to. I could imagine 11 would say the same.
They have a range of work but seem to be based in print, type and photography.

Info Graphics.

It seems that, from researching into what already exists when it comes to publication within studios I would like to work at. Information graphics and publication will tend to just be 2 colours plus stock from what I have found here.  Although if there needs to be a key of information colour will instigate the difference between subjects.

I really love the simplicity of image on this publication.  Two tones of green plus stock emphasises the simplicity and shows the importance of the information inside.
It is important to be clean when talking bout something of importance so that people will take it seriously.

As I consider where I want to work I realise the importance of information graphics within the ethical subjects I appreciate.  To encourage people to understand more about specific subjects then I will want to show this information in a way which encourages participation.  This will be within the lake district publication and sponsored event promotional material.

Ultimate holding company.

Of all the studios I have looked into this seems to be the one most suited to me.  They work with both type and image, colour and print and are socially and environmentally driven.  Not only that but they set up their own  projects which are about helping out around the community either socially or environmentally.
Although it seems like a dream to work in such a place as this I hope I am able to get in touch with them to talk in more detail about the kind of work they are doing.

Environmental design

I have been looking into producing more publications within my area of interest - Environmental design.  This is just an example of what is out there already and what works.  It would be great to look into producing a range of publications for a national park or green space.

The yorkshire dales seem to have got it spot on with the colourways (very earthy), the varying illustration adds a new detail to each page and also directly relates to the theme.  The photography is beautiful and really sets the scene.

I think, considering Photography, I would have to do this to a high level when it comes down to green space as this is what really draws people in - the beautiful scenery/clean air etc.
I may have to visit the area I am designing for in visiting week to really get a good view of it plus I could take some photos in the mean time which would encourage my design.
